It’s no secret that infographics are becoming vital in the storytelling of complex issues.

So, I’m really excited about this new site called visual.ly. It promises two things: help data visualization artists promote their work and provide the online software to create your own data visualizations. I’m thinking many.eyes on steroids – and that’s something to be excited about especially when you’re working with massive amounts of data. In fact, I spent a weekend learning about the complex world of visas and the visa bulletin.

They are still working on it behind the scenes, but they have a cool twitterize tool. It’s based on your twitter account tweets and it compares you to a celebrity, data visualization comparison included. Pretty nifty. Comparisons include Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Fallon, Jay Leno, Lady Gaga, and the show Dexter.
