Our latest homecraft project was distressing a wooden hutch we purchased on Craigslist for $90. Hutches are typically expensive ranging anywhere from $100 to $350 based on how antique or vintage they look. We painted the hutch ourselves in a orange red color for the first two coats and teal for the third and fourth coats. Then we sanded areas to give that distressed look. We added new knobs and ta da. Total budget: Under $200.
